I extend our warm welcome to the Honorable Chief Guest Thiru. T.Soundiah, District Collector, in spite of his busy schedule has graced this function.  Your presence here is a source of inspiration to us and the students.  We welcome you sir.  I am hounour4ed and privileged to welcome Thiru. M. Raveendhiren, Tmt. Shoba Ravichandran, Thiru. A.K.K.Ravichandran, Thiru. Ramesh N. Shah who have decorated this dias with their august presence.  I welcome each and everyone gathered here for this 13th Books distribution function on behalf of RWA Educational and Charitable Trust and the RWA Book Bank Project.

I also take the honor of welcoming the Distinguished Guests, the principals and the Teaching Faculty of various colleges, the Trustees of our Trust, the members of our Association, Members of the press and all the students from various colleges who have been our source of inspiration and support.

As one lamp lights another, Nobleness enkindleth Nobleness.

We at the Rockcity Welfare Association always thrive to turn the darkness before them to light, the rough terrain into smooth surface.  This cannot be done in an imaginary moment but have taken us twelve long years to be equipped with books to help 1500 students.  Our humble beginnings was with 107 students and this year we are in a position to provide books to about 1500 students.  Many hands have joined together to set the light with great brightness.  The generous help from the donors and likeminded people have helped us to make this project a meaningful & purposeful one.

Ability is what you are capable of doing.  Motivation determines what you do.  Attitude determines how well you do it.  Our actions, our words, more than anything else reflects in students performance.  We are happy to state that students have scored as high as 93.87 percentage in exams.  The toppers of Third and Second year students are awarded cash prizes this year.  This would surely motivate the other students to aspire for higher results.  Our beneficiaries have been performing exceedingly well.  Today 33 students would be receiving prizes and out of them five would be getting cash prize of Rs.2000/- each.

We have a humble request for the faculties of various colleges:  your assistance in motivating outgoing students to donate their used course books to our book bank will enable us to extend this assistance to many more deserving students.

The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit, to choose our better history, to carry forward this precious gift, this noble idea, which would be passed on from generation to generation.  The God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve opportunity to study and achieve their full measure of happiness.  This project is not different, we are backed by the support of many people.  I sincerely thank the donors, the members of RWA, our staff Mrs. Krishnaveni and Ms.Sathya Priya, whose diligent efforts have made it possible to run this book bank efficiently.  I thank the Principals ad the staff in charge of all colleges who have contributed their valuable time and service towards this project.  I thank all those who have helped me to discharge my duties as a chairman of the Book Bank.

Thank You

I would like to end on a note with a thought provoking passage that I came across recently:

Every man is the architect of his own fortune.  One should not blame God or anyone else for their misfortune.  One should rather strive above all things because it is their life and everything that happens to them is truly within their power.  True enough, some things can’t be achieved over night but if one works hard enough and believes in themselves, they will get what they want, no matter what obstacles they face.
